Bliss Hippy's song writing is deceptively simple, childlike and often funny - yet at the same time surprisingly profound.

Who is Bliss Hippy Anyway

Bliss Hippy is Richard and Maureen Hall, a folk duo based in the Missouri Ozarks. They are two-time winners of the Great American Song Contest, and two-time finalists. Richard and Maureen have been sharing their music for more than 30 years, touring from coast to coast, and releasing a number of albums. Their songs range from the sublime to silly; profound to down right irreverent, and everything in between. Mostly original, mostly in tune, and always fun!

Bliss Hippy Invastion at South X Southwest

If you happen to find yourself in Austin Texas next week for one of the most famous music festivals on the planet - South X Southwest - be sure and drop by and see Bliss Hippy play a couple of tunes during the week. We'll be at the famous Threadgill's as part of the Handshake Management Showcase on Thursday, March 19 from 2:45 - 3pm and we'll be playing at the very cool Barton Creek Farmer's Market showcase on Saturday, March 21 from 9:30 - 10:05am. The Handshake Management Showcase goes from 11am - 7pm and there's lots of other great musicians playing, including our buddy and outstanding singer/songwriter Mick Byrd from just down the road in Vienna, MO. The Barton Creek Farmer's Market showcase goes from 9am - 2pm and also has many outstanding musicians including our buddies and another great duo The Better Halves, who host the showcase.

We'll also be hanging out at New World Deli on Friday 20th with other musicians and friends.

Please stop by to see us play a couple of tunes, or just say hi, or both.

Bliss Hippy at Folk Alliance International

We had the most fun ever at the annual Folk Alliance International meeting in Kansas City last week. Clearly the highlight was six showcases we did, where we invited some of our favorite musicians to join us and they all said yes! We got to share show cases with Erin Inglish, The Matchsellers, R.J. Cowdery, Daniel Boling, Dan Weber, and ... drum roll ... Ellis, one of the best live performers in the universe. This picture is us with Ellis and me with the new hat Maureen got me in Kansas City. All of these musicians we got to play with are amazing players and songwriters and we would strongly encourage you to see any of them live at your earliest opportunity. It was truly inspiring to get to hear and share music with these people. We also did four other showcases on our own - 10 total in three days - lots of fun, little sleep. And we spent a lot of time in the room hosted by Access Film/Music, which is run by our good pal and great musician Chicago Mike Beck. We also met a new friend and entertaining performer, and all around nice guy, Dennis McDoNoUgh from New Jersey, and Lacy Hampton from Fayettivelle, AR. We saw a lot of other great music and met a lot of other cool people - too many to mention.
